Brakes

Brake services provided by our automotive repair shop are essential for ensuring the safety and proper functioning of a vehicle’s braking system. Regular inspections and maintenance can help prevent brake-related accidents and extend the lifespan of brake components. Here’s a breakdown of what a brake service typically would include:

  • Brake inspection: The first step is a comprehensive inspection of the entire braking system, including the brake pads, rotors, calipers, brake lines, hoses, and brake fluid reservoir. The inspection helps identify any visible issue or wear.
  • Brake pad replacement: If the brake pads are worn down beyond a safe thickness, they will need to be replaced. Worn brake pads can lead to reduced stopping power and increased braking distance.
  • Rotor replacement: The condition of the brake rotors is assessed. If they are scored, rusted, or have uneven wear or damaged, we will replace the rotors.
  • Caliper Inspection and service: The brake calipers, which house the brake pads and apply pressure to the rotors, are inspected for proper operation. Sticking or malfunctioning calipers can cause uneven brake wear and reduced brake efficiently.
  • Brake fluid flush: Over time, brake fluid becomes contaminated and loses its effectiveness. A brake fluid flush involves removing old brake fluid and replacing it with fresh fluid, ensuring proper hydraulic operation of the brake system.
  • Brake line and hose check: Brake lines and hoses are examined for leaks, cracks, or signs of wear. Damaged brake lines or hoses can lead to brake fluid leakage and brake failure.
  • Parking brake inspection: The parking brake is checked for proper adjustment and operation.
